Being attracted to someone you find intellectually stimulating is not the same as being attracted to someone with a high IQ or advanced degree. IQ’s and degrees are external socially recognized measures of achievement. The advanced education is only important if you like discussing in-depth academic research or those with in-depth knowledge on a specific topic. Someone can still be intellectually stimulating without a degree. In addition, some who are attracted to those with high IQ’s or degrees are actually seeking status rather than actual intellectual stimulation.
Also, those who are sapiosexuals are well aware that the size of the brain does not matter. Fine, if you want to demote it from an “orientation” as opposed to a sexual preference (not totally clear on the difference) but that doesn’t change the fact that some of prefer to engage in relationships (thus share sexual activities) with those whom we can have intellectual conversations.
Finally, to those who call us “ableist”, I'm not required to be sexually attracted to anyone. I am responsible for satisfying my sexual appetite in a responsible way. I don’t have to equally be attracted to people who I find to be rude, annoying or unable to engage in topics I find interesting. Just as I can easily disqualify anyone who says “I love the Kardashians!”
